As a vegan, finding little treats that fully fit in the vegan lifestyle (no sugar b/c sugar is not vegan) has often been an adventure. One that I would gladly experiment with because even if the dessert does not turn out perfectly, it still tastes amazing. Here are a few of my favorite vegan desserts.

Raw Carrot Cake

This carrot cake is do die for, absolutely amazing. Here is what I LOVE about it: it is sweetened with dates and little bit of maple syrup and that is it. It is an absolutely lovely cake that my whole family has enjoyed (well all except one of them). I left out the trail mix or mixed nuts called for in the recipe the last time I made it and I actually think that I liked it better that way. Give this one a try, it is my favorite.

Lemon Tart

Limes and lemons are a MUST have in my life. I am not a fan of chocolate, so what I crave is not chocolate, but rather sweet fruits. This is a perfect little tart that is delicious. The recipe calls for honey, but I sub maple syrup/ agave instead, just depends what I have in my kitchen.

White Chocolate Macadamia Cheesecake

The Minimalist Baker is one of my favorite food blogs. Her recipes are plant-based and where she strives for 1 bowl, 30 minutes or less and using 10 ingredients of less. Not a bad way to do it if you ask me. I have always been allergic to dairy, but in the past would have tried a yummy cheesecake because, well it's cheesecake and delicious. The Minimalist Baker has captured that yumminess of a cheesecake in her version of cheesecake. It will not disappoint. I promise.

Almond Carmel Cheesecake

Another cheesecake, because... we all need cheesecake in our lives. Cocoon Cooks

Healthy Breakfast Cookies

They're peanut butter breakfast cookies, but they are definitely worthy of a dessert category too. Make sure when you are selecting your dried fruit, that you find fruit that does not contain extra sugar. I use a unsweetened raisin or unsweetened cranberry that I have picked up from Natural Grocers. These do NOT last long in our house.

What are YOUR favorite VEGAN DESSERTS? I am always looking for new recipes to try.
