NEVER SHINES
BY: SUMMER ROUGHTON
What if the sun never shines?
Darkness fills the hallowed spaces of my life,
The untraveled path remains shadowed.
What if the sun never shines?
Loneliness finds a home in my soul,
Solitude + heartache become an unwelcome companion.
What if the sun never shines?
The obscurity grips so tightly,
drawing me down into an abyss of unknown.
What if the sun never shines?
In the corners of darkness I sit,
Left aching for connection,
togetherness + love.
What if the sun never shines?
I am left confused,
With a brokenness that so deep,
That my soul weeps.
BUT - what if it does?
